Day 1

Welcome to Morocco & Expert Intro

Arrive at Mohammed V International Airport, Casablanca where you will be met by our representatives and escorted through arrival procedures.  Continue to Rabat, Africa’s greenest and most ecological city.

EXPERT BRIEFING: Once you have settled in, we have arranged an expert briefing where a member of our speaker’s bureau will set out for you the current state of affairs in Morocco, including questions around its political structures and methods of sharing power, in particular focusing on the concept of a constitutional monarchy and how it has brought stability to the country, including through the tumultuous time of the Arab Spring over a decade ago. We will touch on the diverse population, the key social and economic challenges for Morocco today, and Morocco’s role as a bridge between Europe and Africa. Our speakers are prominent journalists, risk analysts and think tank people, and offer deep expertise in their areas of knowledge. This will be a chance to step away from the medinas and romance of the past and probe deeply into the Morocco of today.

This evening, we will be happy to arrange dinner in one of the restaurants at the Marina, which has an extremely convivial atmosphere, and great views to the beautifully lit mausoleum.

Day 2

Rabat city tour

Today’s tour is of Rabat, Morocco’s likeable, well-kept capital city on the Atlantic coast. With a convergence of contemporary architecture, colonial influence, the regal palace, and the charm of the ancient medina, Rabat is a diverse town with intriguing highlights. With your private guide, visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, which holds the tombs of the Moroccan king and his sons, the late King Hassan II and Prince Abdallah. Its white marble silhouette and pyramidal green tiled roof exemplify modern Alaouite architecture from the 16th to 19th centuries. You will also see the Hassan Tower, the last remaining sign of what was to be the largest mosque built in the Muslim world. Visit the expansive Royal Palace estate, which is like a city in itself, and journey back in time to Rabat’s historic medina and adjacent fort, the Kasbah of the Udayas with its delightful Andalusian Gardens and panoramic views across Rabat’s expansive Atlantic coast.
Rabat is home to some of the country’s finest museums, which, time allowing, you may wish to visit.

This evening we recommend a stroll along the marina with dinner at one of the restaurants, which we will be happy to book for you.

Our knowledgeable guides will share fascinating stories about the city’s past and present, giving you a deeper understanding of Tangier’s vibrant heritage.

This evening we will be happy to recommend and book dinner in this charming city.

Day 5

Tetouan tour

Today, we’ll bid farewell to the captivating city of Tangier and embark on a scenic journey to the enchanting city of Tetouan.
Tetouan is a beautiful white city and a UNESCO world heritage site.  The city dates back to the fourteenth century and has always been closely connected to Spain – whether as part of a defense against the Spanish, or due to heavy immigration from Spain, particularly Jewish immigration as a result of the Spanish Inquisition, and today the Jewish mellah and synagogue can still be visited. During the first half of the twentieth century, Tetouan was in fact a Spanish protectorate, though it became part of the new Moroccan state in 1956.  Today Tetouan is a bustling city as will be well evidenced when you visit its medina and Kasbah, and its Hassan II square where new and old towns meet, also home to the stunning Bab Er-Rouah, gate to the royal palace.  Spanish influence is felt throughout the town, but nowhere more than in the beautiful Spanish Cathedral.

After an incredible day exploring the enchanting city of Tetouan, we’ll continue on to the luxurious Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay for a serene overnight stay.

Day 6

Day trip to Chefcheoun

Chefchaouen is a picture-perfect hillside town in northern Morocco, which sits against the backdrop of the Rif Mountains. Known for the blue-washed houses that adorn its medina, a maze of charming cobbled alleyways full of cafes and boutiques, Chefchaouen attracts visitors with its laidback, bohemian atmosphere and the shades of blue, from cerulean to indigo, that make it instantly recognisable. Today’s tour takes you strolling through this sublime, painted town with its Andalucian and Moroccan influences, where each twist and turn reveals another pretty arch, hand-carved door, winding staircase, or shade of blue contrasted by red roof tiles. Your private guide will point out the key features and explain the different theories behind using the colour blue. You’ll visit the main square, Uta El Hammam, perhaps stopping for a fresh Moroccan mint tea before walking around the restored kasbah. For those who love to show off their vacation pics, you’ll find a perfect backdrop here.

Return to your luxury hotel at Tamouda Bay.

Day 7

Day at leisure

We leave you to revel in the luxurious comfort of Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay, where you can relax and unwind in your private pool villa, surrounded by stunning Mediterranean views and enveloped in the rich heritage of northern Morocco.
