Al Moudira, Luxor

Al Moudira is a quiet, peaceful haven to return to after a day of touring.  Indeed it feels like an oasis retreat, which is arrived at by leaving the heavily beaten tourist path.  The property is set in aromatic gardens of oriental jasmine, fruit trees and palms, which surround a charming pool, hammam and further facilities.  Offering around fifty rooms, the hotel is small with a painstakingly curated and designed interior, including hand painted murals inspired by Egyptian mythology.  Each of its rooms has lofty ceilings, and a wonderful sense of space.  The food is fantastic, and the service highly personalised.  Al Moudira is highly recommended for those looking for a quiet retreat which remains well located for touring the Valley of the Kings and treasures of Luxor.
