Originally built in the nineteenth century by the Drisco brothers - American missionaries who envisaged fine lodgings for visiting pilgrims, the colonists suffered set-backs and the hotel eventually fell to disuse.

However, following a massive investment and more than a decade of intensive work, it has re-opened its doors and today presents a unique mixture of old world elegance and new world comforts. Chapeau! to the architects and designers who tastefully resurrected the site, preserving as much as possible of the original hotel, including some original wall paintings. The hotel’s history oozes out of its marble floors and staircases, artisan marquetry, nostalgic carpets and comfortable hotel bar. The result is a luxury hotel which feels both sophisticated and comfortable. The hotel offers complimentary drinks every day on its terrace (there is no pool), a private dining room, and a small spa.  It is well located for both Jaffa and Tel Aviv, being located close to the Neve Tzedek neighbourhood.
