The great Saharan desert feels a million miles from Cairo, yet is only an hour and a half's drive from the great pyramids.

Entering a different world, here nature dominates all, sand dunes stretching on for miles – indeed all the way to Morocco!   The sand dunes are taken with some speed by your experienced 4×4 driver, or for the more adventurous can be surfed.   As you jeep through this pristine landscape, the turquoise Magic Lake appears – as if by magic – and is a perfect spot for Bedouin tea, or perhaps an adventure barbeque.  To encounter not only the endless expanse of the desert, but its timelessness, visit the ancient whale and shark fossils at the astonishing outdoor museum of Wadi El Hitan, a UNESCO world heritage site.   Lastly, the nearby Tunis Village is packed full of artisan potters.  Take the opportunity to buy some beautiful items to take home, or if you would like to exercise your creative juices we can arrange for a family pottery workshop.
