Mount Bental offers stunning views of the Golan, extending all the way into Syria.
Mount Bental was itself the site of a decisive battle in which the Israelis, significantly outnumbered, achieved an astonishing victory over the Syrians in the Yom Kippur war 1973. A visit to Mount Bental, with its bunkers which are open to the public, and sign posts indicating the number of kilometers to Damascas, Beirut etc, will certianly make you feel ‘in situ’.
