Gamla
Gamla ‘the Masada of the North’, is a special place which combines history, nature and landscape.
Here your expert guide will recount the story of the Jewish resistance against the Romans during the great revolt of 67 CE, the bravery of which was recorded in detail by Josephus. Together you will explore archaeological remains of the ancient Jewish town including a synagogue pre-dating the destruction of the Second Temple.
The archaeological site is accessed by a short but steep hike up. Gamla is also home to a large number of raptors which makes exciting viewing for bird lovers.
We fell in love with the north. The beauty of the Golan heights we found breath-taking and loved the ‘normality’ of our stay in the Kibbutz.
