Owned by the same people who own the well-known super luxurious Setai Hotel in Miami, this new property certainly brings an element of glamour and suave to the shores of our largest fresh water lake. The property itself is invitingly designed, framing the lake, it feels both upscale and at one with nature. Rooms consist of ‘villas’ all of which are waterside facing, and have large balconies with zen inducing views. Most importantly, the property oozes that ‘je ne said quoi’ relaxed holiday ambience.
As we visited only six weeks after the hotel opened, we did provide feedback on several elements in need of improvement, particularly where service and food were concerned, but we have every hope and expectation that the hotel’s charming GM will have everything on track very soon.
The hotel is excellently located for exploring the Sea of Galilee itself, replete with ancient synagogues and some of the world’s earliest churches, and other nearby heritage sites such as Mount Tabor, Zippori and Nazareth. In addition it’s in a great spot for tours to the Golan Heights and upper Galilee, where you can hike, and learn about the geo-politics complexities of the region.
